The Parish of St. Timothy, Rigolet: Information
Rector: The Reverend Gail Thoms-Williams
The Parish of St. Timothy, Rigolet, Labrador is in a small Northern community of
approximately 310 people, 280 being Anglican. This is the only Anglican parish in the
new land of Nunatsiavut. This new land claim has given the Inuit people of Northern
Labrador their own Government. It was and is a great day for the people of the past,
present and future. At the moment, due to financial strain, the Parish of St.
Timothy's has a part-time priest. However, with the commitment of two Lay
Readers, a dedicated vestry, Sunday readers, Bible study group of 10, and a youth
group, we work together to ensure that this parish will grow to what God wants us
to be. From September to January we have a Sunday School of 8 to 15 kids, after the
days begin to get longer, the list of kids gets shorter, so usually Sunday school is
stopped in late February. In early June the youth group and Sunday school come
together for a barbeque and games to celebrate the past year. We are indeed blessed
by our faithful congregation.
